Accredited Member of AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers)
Bachelor of Nursing (Avondale University)
Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
Certificate IV in Life Coaching (Life Coaching Academy)
Aged Care specific training & experience:
Government Assessor certifications - Regional Assessment Service (RAS) and Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT)
Understanding Dementia certification (University of Tasmania)
Worked with older people in public and private hospital, community-based and home care settings as a government assessor (ACAT and RAS), home care package/case manager and dementia advisor.
Completed numerous assessments (clinical, risk and psychosocial), developed many support plans and implemented care coordination within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) programs.
Worked with older people and their carers/families to organize support services and respite - often with complex and conflicting needs and high carer strain situations.
Mental Health specific training & experience:
Over 3,000 hours of counselling and experience working with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, addictions, grief and loss, crisis, end of life, attachment and personality challenges, and trauma.
Experience with a combination of approaches and theories:
Trauma, Recovery and Solution-focused, Mind-Body/Somatic Experiencing and Parts work, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Schemas, Attachment, Narrative and Systems theories, Motivational Interviewing and Evidence-Based Practices.
